Overview:
2023 saw Emery Jones emerge as one of the best tackles in the country. His effort and ability have placed him firmly in the eyes of many scouts as he plays one of the most sought after positions in football.
Jones had a much improved 2023 campaign as he totaled 440 pass blocking snaps while only giving up two sacks. This was while playing against top tier prospects like Dallas Turner and Darius Robinson who were both 1st round picks in 2024.
Jones will look to improve in again in 2024 and solidify himself as one of the top prospects in the draft next spring.
Strengths:
High football IQ.
Strong hands allow him to ride pass rushers and dictate the pace.
Fluid mover, able to stay with speed rushers around the edge.
Wins with a strong punch at the point of attack.
Moves the line of scrimmage with ease in the run game.
Long arms and strong core allow him to play with elite balance and leverage.
Weaknesses:
Has heavy feet which leaves him susceptible to elite speed rushers.
Sloppy footwork.
Needs to improve hand placement and coordination to be successful at the next level.
