Overview:
Walley has been one of the most consistent cornerbacks in college football over his first three seasons with the Minnesota Golden Gophers. He enters 2024 with room to improve, and the chance to cement his stock as one of the better prospects this year.
Walley has totaled 5 interceptions with 17 passes defensed. He has also been on e of the most productive tacklers with 88 solo tackles thus far.
Walley has been productive in a tough Big 10 conference and could further raise his stock with a strong campaign. His overall resume is solid but another good season will put hin in the premier names in the class.
Strengths:
Solid in off-man coverage.
Closes on receivers in a flash.
Reads quarterbacks like a book in zone coverage.
Accomplished tackler with good pursuit angles.
Low quick backpedal with fluid hips, will translate well to the NFL level.
Weaknesses:
More of a wrap and swing tackler.
Not the most physical cornerback.
Allows the play to come to him rather than pushing the issue.
More of a zone cover corner than a man coverage corner.
