Overview:
Kaimon Rucker was one of the bright spots for the North Carolina Tarheels in 2024 prior to his season ending injury. He was on pace to eclipse his 2023 season and breakout as one of the nation’s top pass rushing prospects, he will now look forward to the draft process to show his skill.
Rucker had 30 total tackles and six sacks and an interception in 2024 while playing just six games.
He is one of the most skilled edge rushers in the draft class and could be a steal for a team in the late rounds. He should be a full go for the NFL Combine in April, if so he can showcase what made him so special in college.
Strengths:
Long arms and strong hands to keep blockers off his body.
Quick first step to push up field and force tackles to respect the outside edge.
Shows good body bend where getting around the edge and finish at the quarterback.
High motor player that keeps his activity level up even when the play is going away from him.
Wrap and drive tackler, rarely allows yards after contact.

Weaknesses:
Anchoring against the run will be an issue due to his smaller size.
Relies on his speed too often and can become predictable.
