Overview:
Kenneth Grant is the definition of "make the most of your opportunities." Grant played behind one of the most talented defensive line prospects in all of college football in 2023, yet he still found a way to be productive when he touched the field. He will now enter 2024 as one of the leading men up front for the Michigan Wolverines as they start their campaign to repeat as College Football Playoff National Champions.
Grant's 2023 was solid as he posted 3.5 sacks with five tackles for loss, and an interception. Add in his 5 pass deflections and you get one of the most well-rounded interior defensive linemen in college football.
2024 will be a telling season for this NFL hopeful defensive lineman.
Strengths:
Elite hands at the point of attack, able to manipulate opposing linemen with ease.
Nimble, smooth footwork when rushing the passer.
Shows good bursts to get to the quarterback once he gets past the blocker.
Above average flexibility and bend to get around blockers and stuff runs in the hole.
High motor player that never gives up on the play.
Easy mover and high IQ to keep gap integrity.
Freakish athletic ability.
High versatility as a 3-4 end or 4-3 tackle.
Weaknesses:
Needs to improve play strength.
Often lets his hands get high when anchoring in run defense.
Inconsistent pad-level leads to loss of leverage.
Conditioning could be an issue with an NFL workload.
Needs to add depth to his arsenal to become a better pass rusher.
