Overview:
Pound for pound there aren't many safeties that are better than Alabama Crimson Tide safety Malachi Moore. Moore has been a highly productive player in what is the toughest conference in college football, the SEC. The fifth-year senior will look to help the Tide to a repeat SEC title in 2024 and hopefully a national title.
Moore's 2023 season saw him bounce back after a down year in 2022. He posted 51 total tackles, an interception and four passes defensed.
Moore will look to bring his experience and skillset to the NFL in the 2025 NFL Draft. He is a blue-chip prospect with elite traits and will be coveted by many teams in April.
Strengths:
Quickly diagnoses plays and snuffs out ball carriers.
Quick enough to cover slot receivers and strong enough to hang with tight ends downfield.
Effective pass rusher, has shown the ability to get home rushing from the slot, up the middle or from the secondary.
Bigger hitter than his stature lets on.
Excels in deep zone coverage as he can read the eyes of the QB and cover ground in a flash.
Adaptable player with a high-IQ as evidenced by his multiple position changes in his career.
Has great ball production and shows the hand-eye coordination to make plays and create turnovers.
Weaknesses:
Long speed is a question.
Undersized for the safety position, may need to put on weight or switch positions to effective in the league.
Durability is a concern due to injury history.
