Overview:
Hunter brings the old school mentality of “if you can do more, do it” to college football. He has been playing both receiver and cornerback since his days at Collin’s High School which made him a 5-Star prospect.
Hunter seemed to thrive at receiver more than cornerback in 2023, totaling 57 receptions for 721 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Hunter will have a decision to make as the NFL Draft creeps around in April. Will he be a cornerback or play his more natural wide receiver position?
Strengths:
Elite athleticism and burst.
Strong frame that will continue to grow.
Runs routes with precision, able to cut off routes on a dime.
High IQ, understands how to find holes in the zone and sit down.
Elite hands, rarely drops the ball.
Larger than his frame catch radius.
Elite playmaking elusiveness, can turn short routes into big plays in a pinch.
Weaknesses:
Splits time at cornerback which holds back his potential at receiver.
Will need to get stronger to deal with physical press man corners at the next level.
Sometimes tries to make things happen instead of taking what the defense gives him.
